Does anyone here get like this? I find that usually things are ok in the fall and winter, but as soon as summer comes around, I feel so absolutely lonely...there are so many places to go and concerts etc, but no one to go with. I also find that with the hot weather comes drinking, which leads to binge drinking then it leads to extreme bouts of crying.

Some people have seasonal depression in the summer. Not as many as those who have seasonal depression in the winter, but...still, you're not alone here.

I'm sorry that you feel so lonely. This is something that I struggle with too. :/

I always seem to face my greatest struggles in the spring. I was hospitalized over spring break in high school, and began this year's challenge last spring, where I came home from university for spring break and couldn't stop crying.

I have had two episodes of major depression. Both have been in full force in the summer. One year I had a break from it when I was on meds...so, depression does not discriminate to time, person, place, or situation...

Hi dg.....Sorry you're feeling summer depression While I'm a bit confused about the "drinking" part, (I think alcohol and depression is a rather risky combination)....I very much relate to the rest. I also have no one to do things with, and while I used to just go do some of them alone, over time that is something I can't handle. I have literally found myself at an event alone, watching other people have fun with friends and /or family, and had to leave because the tears would start. Sure is hard. Warm wishes going out to you.....

Now that is something that I can truly relate to. Alone in a crowd...only those who are depressed know that feeling...and it really is terrible. Sending some kind and warm thoughts to all of you out there...
