My insurance doubled the cost of my copay for my meds. The question is do I change the meds to keep cost down, even if they work to some degree. and add in the fact that I've been on at least 12 meds. And right now the meds are only kind of working... If you were or have been in my position, what would you do?
1) change meds
2) Stay on the meds and find out some financial assistance programs
3) Do nothing

Wow, such a hard situation!
So if the meds are working, I'd try and stay on them and try to get some financial aid. But you said the meds aren't really working right? Then I don't know. Maybe ask your psychiatrist about it, what they're thoughts are. I feel so bad when I hear about people having to try all these different meds and nothing working! I'm so grateful that zoloft and tenex seem a good combination for me for now. Please keep us updated.

talk to your doctor. see if you can try a different combo and have him/her keep the cost in mind. go with generics if at all possible. twelve seems like a lot--I'm assuming there are non-psych meds in there?

oh, and p.s. I love that you included "do nothing" in your options! that's what I tend to want to do with my problems but we all know that doing nothing gets us nowhere.

Just to be clear I have tried 12 different meds in 7 years. I'm on 4 currently, and it's my least favorite time of year... when all of the thoughts of depression started... as I call it, the Dark side. it took me two days to tell a friend, and then 3 months to tell my parents. and the whole fact that it's gotten worse over the years, just doesn't help. Oh and I hate the boom of the fireworks, but yet they are so pretty to watch. Better on TV but I know it's going to be along night.... oh joy.
