I am only 20 years old and all through high school I only had a few close friends, but I thought that they would be my friends forever. My one best friend that i was friends with since kindergarten started hanging out with new people during freshman year I guess the preppier people and kind of left me to myself so then I got close to one of my other friends and kind of just fell apart with the other girl. Any ways I would get drunk with her all the time thinking it was just the cool thing to do wanting to fit in.Anyways my best friend and her drinking got me into a lot of difficult situations. Also she started doing drugs which I would never do.And eventually we stopped being friends. Then there was another girl and we had afight so basically I have none now. and my neighbor who lived next door, but moved and now has nothing to do with me even though he was basically like my brother for 10 years.yes those were all my friends through out high school and now I have none at work the people were jerks so months ago i ended up quitting my job i stopped doing well in school because the fact that I wasn't working drove my mom nuts and she told me that i dont do anything.Basically why I dont have friends. And I'm so lonely like I have no one I have tried just randomnly talking to people from high school on facebook and I have even joined dating sites and yeah i met nice guys that wanted to go out and it didnt last because most guys are so immature and the communication sucked because i am so shy.And i really do miss my ex that ended up breaking up with me because i'm so shy. Basically I just need to know how do I get my life back ways to start making friends? Good friends.Ways to start getting over being so shy start speaking up? I messed up with school and I just feel so lost I guess because I never go out I'm just stuck in the house all the time.Any suggestions

If you're still going to uni or college, look into clubs and associations on campus. They are usually really good places to meet people.
A good therapist can help, too.
