Hello to anyone reading this.... Just wanted to share a positive thought. Over the past few days I really crashed....depression, endless tears, anxiety, grief over the loss of my best friend, who completely abandoned me and our friendship about six weeks ago. As usually happens when I'm in that kind of place, I could see no perspective, or feel even a glimmer of hope. Been there a million times, or more. Having done battle with the depression demon for most of my life, I realize that sometimes people are so deep in their pain that nothing anyone says will ~can get through....been there too. But then again there's always the possibility that somehow, some way, something does. So with that in mind I just wanted to say that for some reason....a complete mystery to me....today something broke loose and I am able to see that I still exist outside of the depression, and am even feeling a little bit of hope for the future. (As a therapist of mine used to say...."You are not your depression"....simple, but true.) So, for what it's worth I just wanted to share this, and send out lots of wishes for all of us to have those better times ~moments....

It's SO true. Somedays my chin is around my feet, and other days I feel like I could fly. I've been on meds for longer than you've been alive I'm sure, and while I'm quite stabilized I still can have "bad days." Lately I've had a few of them, and while i know the reason it's difficult to do much about it.

Today was a pretty GOOD day, and it's great when you have these good days because you know that the bad ones aren't going to last -- and that there WILL come a time when the good ones will be constant, and depression will be a thing of the past. I truly believe that. It may not be in my lifetime but it will come.

I hope everyone is having a good evening. Thanks for the post, Whimsygirl. And take care, all! God bless. Hugs, Lee

Thanks for the message of hope. I lost my best friend in December to cancer. I miss her terribly. We had some great times together. That's what I've got to remember is the great times. maybe.

I have dealt with depression and anxiety for almost 30 years now, and have had many very difficult times along the way. But after much work through therapy and the right meds life is much better. I, too, have my difficult moments (including this week) but it is not as bad as it once was. Not even close. So for that I am very thankful. Thanks for the positive post, I love reading positive posts.
