I have a 9 year old st bernard, who has been at my side thru all my back troubles and depression. Her hip is real bad and I am affraid we may have to do the un thinkable. I won't let her suffer, but I sure wish I could fix her. Love your family and you pets everyday.

I am so sorry to hear about your friend and family member. I hope that she can get help for her hip! Have you tried glucosamine? (weird I know but my little lady has arthritis real bad and it works some...)

Thinking of you...

I know some places offer water therapy for arthritic dogs but that might be expensive..plus not sure if St Bernards like the water? Best wishes to you and your dog.

Hello bretd....Oh you have touched my heart so much with your post I have 4 cats, all of them are special to me, but my "first born" Riley (he just turned 17), is my best friend in the world. It was just him and me for years before the others came along, and I truly believe if it were not for him I might not be alive today....he's been at my side through so much. So, I am so sorry about your St. Bernard's hip problems, and I will be praying for some comfort to come to both of you sooner rather than later. I sure hope there is something that might be able to be done to help her, but also God bless you for not wanting her to suffer. I hope you will keep us posted on things, and please give your sweet girl a hug from me.....

Awh, this post made me cry. I really hope you can find a way to help your dog. It killed me when I had to put my border collie down. She had so much brain damage from seizures.(Vet said there wasn't anything wrong with her.) I still cry over her, even though it's been over 2 years. It breaks my heart when an animal is hurting. I love all of my animals with all of my heart. I don't know what i'd do if I lost one of them. I have also lost one of my dogs that I had for almost 6 years.(Had to get her a new home. ) I'm so sorry. I really, really hope there's something you can do for your dog. I hope everything's okay. Keep us posted?

............ there is nothing like the unconditional love that a pet gives. Sorry to hear about your dog's troubles. I can empathize with you as I also have dogs and they have been with me through thick and thin.
