Hi Bubbleddown ~ I know how you feel. By the time I was 20, I'd been depressed probably about 15 years. I've been depressed since I was a very small child. My parents didn't pay much attention -- they were too busy getting drunk.

When I was in my early 20's I went to a therapist due to the depression. After several sessions, he sent me to my medical doctor for medications for depression! So, my doc put me on medications, and sent me back to the therapist! LOL I was iin therapy for quite some time -- actually off and on most of my adult life. And I've been on medications for almost 40 years.

If the medications didn't help you, then you didn't have the right ones -- or else you didn't stay on them LONG ENOUGH for them to work, because it takes them 6 WEEKS to even begin working!!! The ONLY one I know of that doesn't take that long is Cymbalta, and that takes between 2-3 weeks to work. All the others take 6 weeks.

So go back to your doctor and try medications again, ok? Tell him what you were on before that didn't work -- and ask for a different one. And try again. Give medications a chance and you CAN feel better, I promise!!! You dont' have to suffer!!! God bless and let me know how you come out, will you? I really care. Take care. Hugs, Lee
Thanks for this!

I'm so glad you are here and posted this here. I would encourage you to stick with it. I was in pain for a very long time, and still am a bit sometimes. But it is much better now. I know you have tried a lot and are still suffering. I agree with Leed about medication, it can help if you find the right combination. Anyhow, I just want you to know you aren't alone in your suffering and I hope you will keep posting to let us know how you are doing.
