Has anyone on here ever tried to fund-raise for their therapy? I've tried some donation sites but I want to obtain some anonymity and I'm being accused of being a scammer.
Unfortunately, I'm have a difficult time paying for my therapy and psychiatry appointments. I'd like to continue with my current providers. How have some of you found resources for your treatment?

I wish I had some words of wisdom. have you talked with your doctors for sliding scale fees or payment programs?

I'm on sliding scale with my therapist and the psychiatrist hasn't raised her rates on me in years even though I know she has raised her rates with others. I still figured out that I pay about $6,100 a year between the two. This doesn't count my meds, which are actually relatively reasonable right now. I'll let anyone know the results, if there are any.

I'm using a website called gogetfunding.com. I don't know if anyone knows of any fundraising sites that are better.

I wish I could offer you some advice about finances but I have no money and no insurance so I come here and do the best I can. Good Luck to you and let us know how you manage.

Jelly-bean,

I'd really like for this to work not only for myself (because it would take so much pressure off to know that my treatment is paid for so I don't have to worry about being able to go to therapy) but I'd love for other people then to be able to do the same thing. I know people have done similar things to get out of credit card debt, get help for paying for pet's medical expenses, etc so it seemed like maybe it might work. So far, no dice. I think the biggest problem is I'm not willing to put my face and my name on the project as it may threaten my job (you know, the job that doesn't give me health insurance or pay a living wage). Maybe other's who are willing to give up their anonymity might have more success.
