So its Tuesday now and I still haven't made an appointment for any therapy...and I just don't think I can do it. It is so hard because when I get off I don't really have any privacy except for a few minutes (I am posting this message during that time, I just got off work) after work. And I don't want my family to know that I sought out to get therapy on my own, cause then they will start thinking things and they know I never do anything on my own. I can't really do it in secret either because I would have to give up sleep. It would be probably 6 and a half hours after getting off work that I would have to wait in order to get a private moment. I can't do it before work because I have tried but my sleep schedule never allows for me to get up before having to get ready and go to work.
Also, I am so nervous I don't know who to call, or what to say, or anything. I don't know how to do it. I don't really expect anyone to know what to say to me, I sure wouldn't. I just wanted to update you.. saying I don't know if I ever will be able to convince myself to do this. |

But the thing is: You need therapy cause you dont feel ok, so just go for the therapy what does it care what other people think? You have to do the things for yourself cause it is your emotional health the important thing.
Yes, you say only you have this time. But what does care it what your family is thinking? You are working, are not? So if it is your money...Just go for the therapy, you dont need hiding |

Your family loves you. If you go for therapy they will support you. Also, you need to find a way to have more private time for yourself. Everyone needs a certain amount of time to do or not do whatever they want. It's important for your health. Make a plan to find some privacy.

It takes me forever to do things, especially about getting help, so I really understand where you're coming from. It's taken me almost a month to finally make one phone call to start looking for local therapists. And this one isn't currently accepting new patients. But he's going to refer me to one that accepts payment on a sliding scale. Progress. So you see, if I can do it so can you.
Find the time. Maybe even during your break at work if you have to. You mentioned that you don't know who to call. Do you have insurance? If you do, you can call your member services and you can even make an appointment with you GP, and they can refer you to a therapist. Or if you can do so, ask for the direct contact numbers of local Ts. Baby steps. Please keep us updated. It is not hopeless. |
