I finally bit the bullet and called to see a T. I don't have insurance however, so this place offers T sessions based on a sliding scale. I'm on a waiting list. I've called several places and they all have very long waiting lists. Whoever calls me first wins!

Meanwhile, here I sit..

I hope you won't have to wait very long, I myself called Thursday and made an appt for weds, I have no insurance either and the sliding fee is 25.00 a session. Seems every here in Pa has openings. Don't know what state ur in but I would call everyday and ask if anyone canceled, you may luck up with an earlier date.
Thanks for this!

Thanks for your reply! I'm glad that you were able to get an appointment so quickly. Do they offer a limited number of sessions? Most of the places in CA that I've called have a limit of 12 sessions. I think I might need more. I'm not really sure what to do. I didn't think to call regarding cancellations, that's a good idea. I'm wondering if maybe I should just try to apply for an insurance policy instead.

Well I've been in Counceling on and off for years and alot of places gave a limit on visits but that's usually when your using insurance. If your a self pay I'm sure they will see you for as long as you want.

I called another location last night and left a message for them to call me. They called me back today and they have plenty of openings!! I'm really excited... I have an appointment to see a T this Friday!! And the sliding fee is $25 per session!

I just want to say thank you so much for your replies. I really was about to give up. And a special thank you to TentativeConnection. She gave me the phone number via PM and told me just to call and see. I'm so relieved....
