Hi there,
I've been struggling with completing homework and studying for my classes for several months now. I'm getting really behind! Part of it is that time moves really weird for me some days - I'll wake up and it feels like it's been a day, but it's really been a few weeks and I've just been in a fog. I find it a bit scary. I get really tired and achy and it's hard to focus and I just. can't. do. anything. I'm on Prozac (generic) right now, and I was wondering if anyone had any tricks or tips or maybe they even switched meds and things got easier? Thanks a bunch. ![]() |

But that's the symptom. What is the problem? Is it your prozac? Do you need to get off it or go on another drug? How much are you sleeping? If you get 7-8 hours and not waking up that's probably fine. Keep probing, talk to a guidance counselor, see if they have advice, mention it to the therapist, describe your feelings before and after taking the drugs and see what they think. But mostly, try to have some faith and know that you are capable for getting this done and succeeding. |

This "fog" you're in could be a side effect from the Prozac. How long hve you been on it? Did you just start the drug? How OLD are you? Are you under 21? I need to know these things in order to answer you intelligently. lol
If you just started this drug, you could still be in the "getting used" to phase. It might take awhile before you get used to it. It could take a little while. The reason I ask your age is because some of these drugs are dangerous to give to teenagers. So let me know how long you've been on it, and how old you are, ok? God bless and take care. Hugs, Lee

I agree with the others, it would be good to know how long you've been on Prozac. And they are right, it could be a number of things (depression, meds, undiagnosed medical problem). After my second or third med my doctor to gave me a complete blood count (CBC) exam (nothing there but at least it gave me a some piece of mind)....a CT scan is next but those very expensive. Regardless, ask your doctor to give you a blood panel to rule out stuff like thyroid problems, if you haven't already. After that and if you've given the Prozac a chance to work, ask to be switched to another medicine. I would never hesitate to tell the doctor that your meds are not working or giving you problems. I hope that helps some. Take care.

Hello again,
I appreciate the support. I am 20 and have been on Prozac for about a year and have been seeing a counselor. I have also had my thyroid tested and it came back normal. I will monitor my sleeping habits and try to keep a loose journal of when I get tired. I think that's a good idea. Everything just tends to snowball when it comes to classes. |
