I shall now wallow in my pity. I deserve nothing, nothing is how I shall be. I have no one but myself and myself is not enough anymore. Anyone know how to cheer a depressed chick up?

A bike ride, a long brisk walk, an hour of swimming - either way would help tremendously.
Thanks for this!

I agree about listening to happy music and perhaps singing along. That tends to cheer me up. You could also watch a funny movie.

Get angry. Really angry.

Take some pillows and throw them at your wall. Punch the hell out of your bed. Think about the situations/people that's making you depressed, visualize them, and when you see them in your minds eye, tell them FU.

Try it.

don't think that u have depression. in that way u'll be even more depressed. there are lots of GREAT things around you.... example... take a walk in the park. feel the breeze. watch all the children playing around. u should feel better that way..

DON'T JUST SIT IN ONE PLACE. JUST GO OUT AND PRETEND TO ENJOY. AND EVENTUALLY I HOPE U'LL REALLY EXPERIENCE IT.

BEST OPTION : GET YOURSELF A PET AND MAKE IT UR BEST FRIEND. PEOPLE MAY LEAVE. BUT PETS DON'T..

wishing u all the luck...

I don't know...it kind of helps me to stop fighting the depression. You know, like when you struggle with one of those finger traps, it gets tighter, but if you release your grasp, it will slip off. Of course, you won't feel better right away from distractions, but over time, it can help if you just focus on living. That's my current strategy anyhow...

Give in to it. I have to do that from time to time. Give in to the feelings and go with them.

If your being depressed is from anger and frustration scream, run, hit pillows, hit a baseball.

If your feeling depressed is due to sadness and being down go w/ that. Cry, listen to sad songs, pet and love your cat (dog, hamster, what ever). Write about the issues, PM some one, flip out or dump your issues here at PC. I probably do that the most.

Get T. If you are in T ask for an extra visit. Mine can't always do that but she can squeeze in a 10 min phone session. It's helpful to hear the voice of reason and calm. Hope something here helps. I've been there. Just know if you stuff it eventually all that stuffing starts to come out and when you loose your stuffing it feels like you are coming apart. A wize teddy bear told me this. Go hug your teddy bear.
