My depression is getting bad again. I had to reschedule my psych. app't. a 1/2 before the time because, at the last minute my ride decided she couldn't take me. I've been signed up for all thes mental health classes; the first two were cancelled halfway thru because the people leading them were transferred and they didnt think to find replacements for them. The other two kept sending me home after going all the way out there because there werent enuff people there to justify a group. >

I would think that TWO would be enough to justify a group! When people need help, they need HELP!!!

I'm sorry you've had trouble getting the help you need. Depression is awful. It effects every part of your life.

Are you on any medications? Perhaps you should talk with your doctor and see if he could put you on an antidepressant, since help is so hard to find. At least an antidepressant would help you to feel better. It certainly won't solve your problems, but you won't feel as bad. Then, when help is available, you can still go and get some of your issues taken care of. That's the way i did it anyway. It made it easier to talk about the issues too. I didn't collapse into tears every time I opened my mouth. I was able to talk about things, without getting so darn emotional.

I wish you the very best. If you want to talk, don't hesitate to message me. I'll be around. I've had depression since I was a very little girl -- and I'm 63 now! And I've been thru therapy & the whole ball of wax. LOL God bless and please take care. Hugs, Lee

Yes, I'm on prozac--they put me on the highest dose allowed because my depression was getting so bad. It does help. Sometimes I wonder if something else isn't going on with me also.

Its my unprofessional opinion that left untreated for long periods of time, depression can morph into other forms of disorders. Like for me, I also experienced anxiety/social anxiety, avpd, periods of psychosis, anti social personality and more but none of these were ever professionally diagnosed. Is it possible for you to get a complete workup? Sorry you're feeling blue, I know that sucks.

Well, actually, that would make perfect sense to me. I may talk to my doctor or psychiatrist about seeing about other issues. My depression went untreated for a long time.

Yes. I know what you mean there. I read some self help books, self educated myself as much as I could. Had some therapy but only one was truly helpful. I denied that I had depression to myself for many years. I knew something was wrong tho and I just looked everywhere I could for answers. Places like PC have helped enormously. I hope you get to feeling better and have your checkup done. If I had known what my symptoms were called Im sure I could have figured things out sooner but I kinda just bumped along with it.

My adult son had found a job, so DSHS took him off the case and lowered my food stamp benefits to only $16 a month--then my son lost his job after only 6 weeks. I feel exhausted.

Ugh. A rare case of DSHS being overyly efficient. Hope he can contribute a little from his check til you get things straightened out. Its really hard since you dont have a car and have to arrange rides everywhere. I wish I could do more than this.

ARghh!! so frustrating, so annoying, so inconsiderate, so...... adjectives fail me! So rude!. No wonder you feel worse . It takes a lot of energy to sign up for these things in the first place, and even more to go there..... grrr. I realise these are not the most helpful of comments . Hang in there, shortncute, and vent here all you like. Hope the organisers of your classes get themselves sorted out soon.

The tuff thing about it is how one event like this can trigger a whole range of reactions. Try not to allow your emotions to swing too far and just deal with one thing at a time. I know its hard.

I agree and identify with all the above. Yes, by all means get as full a medical workup as possible lest something else go unnoticed due to the depression.
