I'm feeling a little overwhelmed now.
Last semester at school kicked my butt and I was considering taking this semester off or maybe dropping out. I ended up talking myself out of it. The new semester at my school just started a week ago and I already feel like I need a break. I feel really stressed out about everything and I don't know what to do. |

Hi just want you to know there are a lot of caring people on here to give you advice. I'm not the best at it and I don't know about you but since you posted in the depression forum I'm wondering if you have a counselor at your school to talk to and if you have tried medication for depression.
You are not alone here. Have you tried the school and study issues forum? best wishes hang in there you will get help here from othrrs who are having similar problems! |

I'm not sure if this will be encouraging to you now, but it is probably better that you stayed in the semester so that you have something to focus on. Personally, I am not working or going to school and I know that being stuck in this rut of no daily routine is definitely NOT helping my depression. If you've got some semblance of a routine, hold onto it. Every day isn't going to be easy, but when you've got something important that you are working on or going to school for, it helps make the overall picture a little better. It gives you that purpose, something to wake up for every day. School can be very overwhelming, but just keep your end goal in mind.

Ugh, feeling overwhelmed sucks! I can definitely relate!
How many classes are you taking? Is it possible to take a lighter courseload instead of completing dropping out? But if you feel like taking a break will be better for your mental health, there isn't anything wrong with that either! good luck! |

Most school have counselors you can talk to. It may help you to talk to one of them. I find my problems are easier to face when I talk them out with people.

School can be a bear. I went back to school, am in my ninth of what may become twelve semesters for undergrad because I just could not handle a full time schedule. So I go part time and work part time. That still gets darned intense at times. My approach is to just keep plugging away at it. I have NO IDEA how people finish in four years without totally burning out :-/.
