Really struggling. I've had depression for years and started new meds in December, but not working. I am having trouble functioning at work and want to isolate. I have done therapy for years and am just looking for someone who can give me some ideas on how to get through the day. I am going back to the doctor this week. I am feeling hopeless and need some suggestions. THANKS!

Hello Lorilouise! Welcome to PsychCentral! Could your doctor refer you to a community mental health program that can help you with suggestions?

Hi, Lorilouise,
I responded to a post several threads above this one, letting you know the value of lemon juice (from freshly squeezed lemons) and water to help in alleviating a high acidic situation of fluids and tissues of the body. (I'm not referring to the ph value of the system--that's quite different and is maintained within rigid boundaries by the brain. This is fluids and tissues only.) Teaching is an extraordinarily stressful job in this day and age, and that alone can cause a buildup of acidic residue that the kidneys must dispose of. When you add the ash (or acidic residue) of medications, you have an overload of acid in your fluids and tissues that needs to be dissipated. If you don't have something to alleviate the condition, the problem just continues to ciruclate in the blood stream until the kidneys can catch up. (Taking a med every 24 hours adds its own strain to the kidneys, in my view.) You may not need to squeeze the lemons into 8oz of water daily, but once in a while when you feel the need because of bad feeling tone, the lowly little lemon is a real help to alleviate stress on the body. It does work, as I suggested earlier, for some of us, and I hope it will work for you. Take care. |
