I joined to share experiences, etc but I'm finding increased depression upon reading some threads. Is it just me? Any suggestions?

Hi ~ I'm sorry you haven't been answered yet. Yes, sometimes reading the posts, I get more depressed too. It depends on what I'm reading and how I'm feeling at the time.

All I can say is to watch the titles of the threads so that it doesn't trigger your depression. But sometimes that doesn't even work.

Do you have someone to talk to about your depression? If you're in school, talk to your school counselor. If you're not in school, have your doctor refer you to a therapist. Depression is something you need to take care of. You shouldn't let it go as it can become serious. I wish you the very best. Take care and God bless. Hugs, Lee

I forget right now what its called but what you speak of is a truism for people in groups having an effect on each others depression. Leeds advice is as good as any Ive heard. We have to be careful what company we keep when we are trying to recover. Its always ok to step away for a bit until you can regain your sense of strength enough to go on. Welcome to PC!

It does that for me, too, WhatItIs, sometimes. I back away to regroup, too, when that happens. It makes me want to help, but once in a while, it's just too much for me and I have to step a way to recover.

Take care and try to do whatever it takes to keep you able and strong.

Sometimes when I read the posts of others, it makes me realize that other people are suffering like I am suffering, and that we can all help each other. I also often realize that many people suffer much more than I do, and it makes me happy to help give other hope.
Thanks for this!
