Hi all,
So I've noticed for many years that when I have a setback or disappointment in life (not just talking about major things...more trivial things as well) that my depression is triggered. And I feel so stupid when it's small stuff. Does anyone else experience this? ![]() |

For me, it's as if the emotional-cognitive substructure beneath my senses has lost the ability to distinguish between the threatening and non-threatening, the benign and the serious. Too many examples... ![]()

Another thing that gets to me is when someone says or does something to me that's not nice. It seems like it does not take much for that to happen. The weirdest thing of all is that I felt like I was able to cope with the death of my parents much better than I can cope with those two things that I just mentioned. |

I know what you mean...dealing with something major is often easier than the minor, every day things. I have no idea why that is!
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one...thanks for sharing |

I've heard it said "it's the little things that get to me, not the big things", my grandmother used to tell me that all the time, she lived to be 81. She was the strongest person I ever knew, her husband, my grandfather died when a plane crashed into the Empire State Building in 1945, and she couldn't handle sweeping the floor, but could handle her husband dying in a plane crash.!!!!!!!!!
