Hi All,

So I was wondering if any of you have noticed a change in your dreaming and sleeping patterns since you have become depressed. I am not taking any medication at the moment. My depression started several months ago and I feel this constant negative thinking has had a major affect on my sleeping and dreaming. At first, I had a really hard time falling asleep, but now I sleep a lot but do not feel that rested in the morning. I feel like I am constantly dreaming and it does not allow me to get restful sleep. I also noticed that my dreams all have a dark tone to them and they are very detailed. I feel like these dreams only work to solidify my depression because it embeds negativity into my unconscious. I actually think it is quite possible that these dreaming patterns aided in digging me deeper into a hole. Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences with this?

I noticed similar occurrences when I was really down... I'm unsure if it was my mind trying to process the depression, or feeding into it, or just bogged down by it... or maybe all of the above. There are times when my dreams are remembered in great detail, and the feelings they evoke stick with me for a very long time... That is usually about the time I address the feelings/dreams in therapy to be able to process them further...
Also, I noticed when I dream more lucidly, I can recall the dreams, but still feel rested in the morning... depression has a way of sapping everything out of you...

I was on a drug that put me down every night.
But you must have it and not some generic knock off which has no gdamned active ingredient in it and induces mania and itching for profit that can kill you. It costs less. So did the bp oil spill.
