I am having cognitive therapy and trying to work hard on it as I have told mu husband and kids I am doing. But it is hard to do this kind of therapy when you are so depressed you wish you were dead. I will keep trying because as we say at my inperson support group is all we can do is get up the next day and try agagin. I have Pdoc and T but don't tell them how bad I feel. It has been a year since I have been in the hospital and I want to keep it that way so I am cafefull what I say.

Your fears on understandable. Do consider that opening up to your pdoc can help him/her help you. If your pdoc knew that your having depression, a new med could be added. I have problems w/ depression and just started a new med. I believe this med is helping me.

Good luck

It is very difficult to engage in any therapy while depressed and not well. I would usually do the same…not tell them for fear of going back into the Psych Unit.

However, I think it is important to way up the pros and cons. If you can somehow work on the depression with some medication as the other poster suggested.

You will know yourself I think what is the best for you, but I completely understand that fear.

Good luck ok

I don't share the exact same dilemma, but I have some appreciation of this kind of delicate situation: how to tell your caregivers you are in severe distress without triggering a response that would end up making you worse.

How well do you know your pdoc and T? What words could you use that would inform them without frightening them?

I think you might consider telling them how you feel. After all they are there to help.
