Hi everyone,
I've been going to an acupuncture school clinic the past few weeks that also does Chinese herbs as part of their treatment if you wish. I'd heart that acupuncture can help w/ depression & anxiety and am eager to see if it helps. They told me there that it's a program of treatment that takes 2 or 3 months, just like anything else I guess. My question was - has anyone ever tried acupuncture? Did it help you? Also have you ever tried Salvia? Today they recommended that I think about taking salvia to relieve the depression, if I wish to. Just wondering what your experience was if you've taken that herbal remedy. Thanks!! Grace |

Hi Grace -
No, I haven't taken it. Just researched it a little - what member of the sage/mint family is it? Do you mean the plant Salvia divinorum? I found brazil nuts helpful because of the selenium content. That was recommended by a book called "Food, your miracle medicine," in the mood chapter, along with hot chilis. I found some of the suggestions in the brain power chapter also helpful - protein, especially first thing in the day, as well as salmon and fish oils for the brain. Of course, your brain affects depression, so this made sense to me. However, different strokes for different folks - it takes some looking to find out what works for you.
