this is my first post here I have been suffering with depression for about 4 years now prozac stopped working for me, I have tried cymbalta and abilify, right now my I am weaned off of anti depressants and am trying theraputic lifestyle changes-- I have been off meds since January and every time I have a down day I get scared I am getting ready to spiral and have to go back on meds, unfortunately I wasn't feeling much better on them and I have heard so much about how bad they are for your liver I really want to give lifestyle change a chance to work. Its just so hard to make myself spend time outside excersising and I work at home and don't have any really close friends to share with. I hope to connect with some people here that I can connect with.

Hi ~ I'm sorry you're having such trouble.

Have you gone into therapy? I know you said you're trying lifestyle changes, but have you really had therapy? By that, I mean gone into your past, and studied what may be causing your depression? Therapy can be very helpful, and can ease the depression alot if not wipe it out completely! Alot depends on the person and the causes of depression.

I urge you to at least try therapy. And if it doesn't work, try medication. Not ALL medication effects your liver!!! Plus you should NEVER abruptly stop the medications -- you must wean off them, with the knowledge of your doctor. It can be very dangerous to just STOP the medication quickly.

I wish you the very best. Please let us know how you do. God bless and please take care. Hugs, Lee

Maybe start a thread about your daily exercises just telling what you did and when you did it? Then others who are doing the same thing can add what they did and you could encourage each other and make friends that way? Welcome to PC!
Thanks for this!
