Is there anything? It is so difficult to verbalise. Does anyone else experience this inability to say anything?

Hi ScottWest,

I often feel like this. For me it comes from a some of the depressed feelings that I have like having nothing of worth to offer, and like I can't be around people and relate well to them. And I don't "do" a whole lot, doing is so valued in our society, so I never have "news" for people to chatter away about. Not interested besides.

What's your experience?

Take good care

Gracez
Thanks for this!

These discussions might touch on at least part of what you are experiencing:
Difficulty Identifying/Verbalizing Emotions
Unable to Verbalize the Problem?
Welcome and make yourself at home, ScottWest!

Absolutely. When you're depressed your mind it's hard to think of anything to say. You have to use all your energy just to maintain equilibrium. It's a very intense way of being and trivial chit-chat seems so inane. Still there is the urge to be with other people and interact. Here's a suggestion. I read the news. Even if I'm not interested. It gives topics of conversation that don't entail talking about yourself. It's like mental body armor. Try it. I bet it will help.
