I am not sure where this belongs. If you go to the hospital what can you take with you. I use a doll as one of my coping skills would he be able to stay with me if I should go to the hospital?

I think each hospital decides what is allowed.
You could call and ask the admissions office. ![]() |

I like to take a book or some magazines with me to read in the evenings when there is free time.
Hope you feel better soon. ![]()

When I was hospitalized we were not allowed to have anything like a doll or stuffed animal.

it definitely depends on the hospital. where i went they offered me a stuffed animal, but i declined. it may not be a problem to bring your doll as long as there are no stringy materials. the hospital i went to did not allow any strings whatsoever. you should defintely contact the admissions office and see if they will allow you to bring your doll along. i hope everything works out for you.

Roba, can you look at the hospitals website? Sometimes they will have a list of things you can bring. They have things that your not alloud to bring that might seem like nothing to you, like rules about what kind of soaps and shampoos. And just call and ask so you know for sure.
I hope you can take your doll with you. Fingers crossed.

When I went IP last summer, the hospital I was in, was pretty open about what we could bring in. I brought books, a notepad and pens, a small teddy bear, and craft supplies, like threads for making friendship bracelets, and some needlepoint, and wool for knitting. Some of the other patients also brought pillows and favourite blankets from home. But this was a ward, where stays were definitely for more than a few days. (I was in for 7 weeks). I also took laundry detergent so that I could do laundry although they had that on the floor - I just like my brand. I took razors to shave my legs but they had to be checked at the nursing station and could only be signed out when I needed them. They also made me check my embroidery needles.
You probably won't be allowed a cell-phone if it takes pictures, or at least that was the rule where I was. Cells that didn't take pictures were ok. Don't take anything valuable. I had my wallet stolen when I was in, lost all my credit cards, cash, and ID which somebody then used to in an identity theft scam. Hope it goes well. --splitimage |
