Hi folks.
I'm new to this so please bare with me.
I have a history of depression. Was on Prozac for 3 yrs.
When I realized I was totally flat emotionally, I weaned myself off of it. I did very well for several yrs.
Now, after some things have happened in my life, I've lost myself. I truly don't know what I want from my life. Nothing makes me happy, nothing is enjoyable. I don't care about anything.
I was a wonderful housekeeper, I really loved cleaning and decorating my home. Everything was perfect and I was proud of the fact that I did these things myself. Now I don't care if the roof caves in. I don't care about my job. Don't have any friends anymore and I really don't want any.
This isn't me. Please tell me how to crawl from this hole i'm in!!!

Hi justpeachy, sorry to hear things are so rough. I don't know if you have done so, but it might help talking to a counselor/professional. Knowing the problem, they might be better able to help you deal with the issues you mention. You shouldn't go through this alone...

Hey, I hope that you speak to a professional about these feelings. Just know that you are not alone on these feelings. I too had felt the same way for the longest time in this past year, but therapy had really helped me to come out of that hole. I hope that you start going to counseling and start digging deep into your feelings to help make yourself feel better. *hugs*

welcome to PC justpeachy06!

Like what everyone else has suggested - do you have someone to talk to? A therapist? Can you go back to whomever prescribed you the Prozac and see if they can help?

Not sure what else to say except if you ever need to talk to anyone, please feel free to PM me.

Yes, I have talked to my Dr.
He told me to keep a journal of my feelings and put me on xanax for awhile. It helped some as was having anxiety attacks then. I have kept a journal and it is sometimes helpful. But lately it doesn't seem to do much good. Was hoping I could deal with it on my own. Thanks for your concern. Nice to know someone understands.

I sure know how you feel. My house is such a mess anymore. I was never like this. I also feel that I have lost myself. I have friends, but they don't understand what I am going through, and I feel so alone. Please write back to me. Maybe we can help each other in some way.

When we're really depressed nothing seems enjoyable.I agree with the others that talking with someone might help, and posting here, of course.

Lonnie;
I'm so sorry that you are going through this too. It IS such a lonely feeling. I had a friend that deals with depression also, but even she would look at me and wonder "why are YOU depressed, when you have everything??" Of course i've asked myself that same question. I just wish I knew the answer. Thank you for responding, it does help to know that so many of you understand.
