I dont really like talking to my parents about this kind of stuff because i was never there favorite child and everytime i try to talk to them i just choke up. My friends are always willing to talk and for some reason always know just what to say but i am wondering that if talking to my friends about it instead of my parents is a bad thing for me.

If you feel more comfortable with your friends, definitely talk to them.

If you think they care about you definitely go ahead and talk to friends.
But one point to be noted. Depression is like having extra sensitivity to negative emotions. So maybe your assumption that you were never their fav child, might be wrong. So give your parents a chance. If they are good parents, definitely they will go the extra mile to help you.
