I feel I am not that.

So, if anyone chooses to judge my progress, ok I have not progressed in this area. So what.

spe‧cial  /ˈspɛʃəl/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[spesh-uhl] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation

–adjective 1. of a distinct or particular kind or character: a special kind of key.
2. being a particular one; particular, individual, or certain: You'd better call the special number.
3. pertaining or peculiar to a particular person, thing, instance, etc.; distinctive; unique: the special features of a plan.
4. having a specific or particular function, purpose, etc.: a special messenger.
5. distinguished or different from what is ordinary or usual: a special occasion; to fix something special.
6. extraordinary; exceptional, as in amount or degree; especial: special importance.
7. being such in an exceptional degree; particularly valued: a special friend.

I recently used that term in some of my posting, and have used it occassionally in the past.

To me it's almost a combination of all of the above. So many are special here...unique by having special qualities of compassion, caring, giving of information and time, insightful, intuitive, etc.

PC is full of "special"...including you, bear.

KD

thanks kd what does?

I think what you said about qualities of compassion, caring, giving of time (and information if done caringly), insight and intuitiveness are all great examples.

Maybe your reply has helped, thanks what does?

A special person? Good question.

I think a special person is someone who makes you feel warm and loved. Someone who can set aside their own needs to be there for someone else, wether it is their friend or a total stranger. Being special is not an easy task. But, I think that there are a whole bunch of special people here.

Fuzzy,

If you didnt know how I felt about you before, maybe this will refresh your memory. Your special to me because you always PM me to check on me, to make sure I am ok. Your supportive of me and others here. You understand and have empathy for those around you. You give more of yourself then you realize. Thanks for being you.

Love,

Jen

Fuzzy why don't you think you're special? I mean you don't have to answer me but it's worth thinking about maybe because it seems to me that people here think you are special and I wonder if maybe you've just got that tape player/critic in your head trying to tell you you're not.
Special people to me are those I feel closest to for whatever reason. Could be their empathic nature, sensitivity, respect, honesty and something indefinable (which I'm sorry to say isn't a very useful response to your question what does? ) ... the way a person makes you feel, a certain warmth even though you may not know exactly why.
edited to add: fwiw, I didn't think your post was childish or stupid at all. It actually made me think about why I think special people are special to me. I had never thought about it before. what does?

Fuzzy, it is late, so I am not going to venture an intelligent - much less insightful response - but I don't mind telling you that I care. And I always try to understand.

Thanks Sabrina, I care too!
I try to understand as well although .... well... I guess my childhood didn't help and I am trying to repair the damage what does?

Feeling I shouldn't really say anything. I don't know if you feel that way sometimes.... if so, it stinks. Depression stinks. Self esteem issues stink. Fortunately fuzzy bears do have regular baths what does?

Your fuzzy friend xox
