Just some thoughts on my day.

I met up with a friend and that went really well. I haven't seen anyone in a while so i was glad to get out- know the feeling?

I met two new people, and meeting new people is always hard, so i was happy about that.

I was pleasantly surprised that they were really nice.

One of them opened up to me about having a bit of depression herself, so i told her i was depressed too, ...with other problems.

But you know what, it seems like all i have been hearing about recently are people who have suicided or had attempts.

Firstly, my psychologist's brother in law attempted suicide.

Then an acquaintance of my Aunt actually killed himself, and he had four kids and a wife.

Then a friend's friend attempted suicide.

Do other people hear of so many suicide attempts? I can't believe it has happened so often!

Yes its sad, very sad to hear but its true! Suicide has become somewhat an easy way out! Pity!

I was talking to a friend of mine about tax's and this stuff (i work as an accountant) and she started nameing people who have killed themselfs because of the problems they got into, and this is just one prob, and i am sure there are alot more that i dont know about!

Its a shame, because life is so beautiful, even when you are down it helps you back up! (if you let it) *siegh*

As a grateful survivor from a near fatal suicide attempt, I would like to say that for me it was far from "an easy way out". Quite the opposite actually.

EASY WAY OUT!!??

Not hardly. Perhaps 20 years ago I had a very elaborate suicide plan that took years to work through. It was not easy by any means. I tried to make sure that every aspect of my life's responsibilities would be well taken care of with insurance, a will, etc. Every detail down to how to relight the furnace pilot light was carefully recorded in a book.

At the time I was inadequately treated and did not want more of the then terrible meds. Their side effects were almost as bad as the depression, which was very long and very bleak. I could just not see how any change in anything could ever make life worth while. It was only for my family responsibilities that I continued on, knowing that I was slowly mitigating those issues, too.

It finally got to where I was actively searching for a terrible car accident that someone else would clearly have caused, where I simply would fail to react to save myself. Today, tonight, there is a denial that is keeping me from recalling what turned the tide. But, that is ok, as I am mostly ok most of the time, and glad to have had the extra years for a lot of fun.

I just wanted to dismiss that notion that it is "easy."

(((Maiden))), I'm sorry to hear that so many people around you have taken/attempted to take their own lives. I hate to think of the pain that people who get to that point must be feeling. So many suicides
