So I've been trying to transfer to other departments at my job as my performance has been struggling for the past couple of months due to my depression and anxiety. I work in a call center and have been trying to get to another department for the past 6 months with no luck because of my performance. I broke down yesterday in my managers office after getting a letter saying I couldn't be interviewed for somewhere else and my manager told me there was nothing she could do. I went over her head and talked with my senior manager, and after explaining to him my recent diagnosis, he said that he may be able to work something out by starting a medical accommodations request. I know that every job is different, but has anyone been thru something similar to this? What was the process like? Any insight is appreciated!

Hello, Shamon86. I have not been through the process, but I'm aware of it - in the USA it's "Reasonable Accommodation" under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). If the employer will not or cannot accommodate you, they have to show "Undue Hardship."

Hi-
Google Job Accomodation Network. They will speak to you if you want.
Good Luck!
