I'm curious because for me it used to be the morning when I woke up and my therapist and I did some exploring as to why. Now, it's at night, usually around dinner and thereafter up through bedtime. I'm just so sad and I can't wait for it to be morning so I don't feel that way but then thinking about another daywith depression is depressing in itself. What about you guys?

For the most part I would say on Saturday afternoon until Sunday evening. I have depression at other times as well, but that's when it hits me the most.

I work the early morning hours, my shifts start at 4:30am so I have to wake up at 3:30am. I can definitely say without a doubt I'm most depressed in those morning hours until the sun comes up.

I always feel worst from the wee hours of the morning (when I an inevitably awake) until after dawn, when I make myself get up and start doing something. Then, I feel somewhat better. It's weird --- in the early morning I feel terribly anxious, sad, and can't stop terrible thoughts.

I'm worse as the day wears on. I'm generally better right after waking up from a nap or sleep, but it dissipates quickly. I'm never really depressed in the mornings unless I'm REALLY badly depressed and it never lets up, but then it's a constant thing with no break in the mood.

Late afternoon. It used to also hit me real hard between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.

For me I think its the mornings.
I work midnight to 8am, and generally get pretty down on the way back to my apartment.
Thanks for this!

I happened to notice that I was depressed when I woke up for work at 10:15pm.
I am feeling rather upbeat at the moment...gonna have to track this, its an interesting question.

I get the most depressed late at night when my parents go to bed and I am alone with my thoughts. In the day I have my distractions, but at night I don't so my mind wanders.

For me I guess it depends. I seem to be more anxious in the afternoon, but I'm depressed all day.

If I wake up depressed, it is the hardest for me. I have the whole day to look forward to, trying to pull myself out of it...

it varies. sometimes I can wake up in a good mood but then my mood can suddenly turn sour. but when I do wake up depressed I usually stay depressed for the rest of the day.. may feel a little bit better as the day progresses but a slight remnant of depression is always there.

At the end of the day for me I get really overwhelmed and not necessarily from the events of the day. It could have been a "good" day or a "bad" day but night-time is triggering for me I guess. Pretty sure I know why, too. It's interesting - the more I become aware of things like this, the more I realize that I haven't gotten over certain things. It would seem I have some denial issues lol.

It is also worst for me if I wake up feeling down/upset, usually in the throes of some unpleasant dream.
Sometimes I hit a wall in the evening...
Think I will start using the daily mood tracker to find out---do one in am, another in pm.

The feeling of depression hits me the hardest at night, although I do have the feeling almost all day. There are certain situations during that day that can make me sad, but mostly it is at night, when I'm alone and I'm left to let my thoughts go wherever they wish.
Thanks for this!

Lately for me its been "coming back" in the evenings, but in general I tend to wake up feeling good, or on the verge of crying.
