I have to paint my sister's house. Help my nephew install new siding. Sell all my tools.

Or, you could print up an hourly rate card, keep the tools, and make money (or what have you) helping your relatives? Sounds like you're sick of being the skilled helper. Yes?

No. I'm just sick of all of it. The work is prior commitments that have to be honored. I'm not getting paid for it. They are family. The sale of the tools should be more than enough for a ticket to San Francisco. I'm not a big fan of SF but it has it's high points. I'm not really looking for comments... just venting. You have to be able to say these things. I'd love to go tonight.

Okay, if you don't want comments maybe you also don't want questions. But what's going on? You moving? Visiting? It sounded like you wanted to sell the tools and not do the work . . . but I stand corrected. What is it you're sick of? (Don't answer if you don't want to.)

I'm not a "tool guy," but it seems that parting with one's tools might mean a significant life change or transition. My best and most hopeful wishes to you for a positive transition.

I'm sorry, that post really doesn't make sense. I'm not even sure myself what it meant.

I want the conversion van I plan to buy when I can to appear before my door so I can Leave!
(lots of urges to just abandon my current life; except for my grown kids and grandchild, but I could always visit them...I'm feeling like I just can't manage "this" anymore...)
I thought it a clever post.

Don't you just wish you could jump in a car or plane and take off sometimes? Just a change of scenery.
