Have been on 2 other ad's, in and out of CBT therapy.

YES! it's working for me, finally!

I will say that we started out with 5mg for 2 weeks, then went to 10 mg for a few weeks weeks, then went to 12.5mg for quite a while, before 15 mg is where I landed and it's made a HUGE difference!

What was interesting is that once we hit 10mg, I noticed big changes, but they were short lived, so we quickly went up to 15 mg, but that was too much for me. After probably 3-4 months at 12.5mg, I was able to tolerate 15mg, and wow! So much better!

I was on Lexapro for a few years and it was what helped me the most but it was too expensive and I would always end up getting off of it because I couldn't afford it. Now I take a low dose of generic Prozac because it only costs $4 a month. It is only barely keeping me alive though.

Hello Parksguy, Lexapro was one of my first antidepressants, mainly because my doctor said it was one of the "cleaner" ad's. I was firstly on 10 for about 5 weeks with no effect then 20, then 30 and finally ended up on 60 mgs. It had really no efect on me , but, you are on a very low dose. Maybe getting a higher dose might help you. Mabe it might be time re-evaluate your meds with your physician.I am now on effexor which has helped me so much. I don't want to rain on your parade by telling you that they were no good for me, but thats just my experience on them. Everyone reacts differently to meds. Best of luck. I hope you find relief soon. Let me know how you got on!

Hi Pierro:

Thank you so much for your reply. I was thinking the same about having the dose raised and possibly adding Deplin. Glad effexor worked for you!

I was on 30mg of Lexapro for 2 weeks, it worked the opposite for me. I couldn't sleep and I fell even more down the black hole. Same for fluoxetine. On SNRIs now and they work better for me. There's supposed to be a brain scan test to find out what works/doesn't work for each person. I don't know how/where to get one but ask your doctor.
