When you attempt suicide three times. When you just want to end it all.

When you know you're supposed to be doing something "important" but you just lay in bed all day and waste time because you know you can't do it good enough anyway.

You know you're depressed when you can't remember anything that used to make you happy. When nothing feels like it should. When you are empty.

I have this happen all the time. It seems sort of like a bad joke. Do this? Yes...no. How about this? ...maybe. Actually no. Does this do anything for me? No, try again.

...you obsessively eat when you're not hungry hoping to fill up some kind of void.

...you want to reach out to your T about a serious matter, but don't have the energy/strength of will to do it for weeks on end.

...you prefer to just go to your room, lie down and stare at the ceiling (maybe with music if you're not irritable) instead of going out with friends, studying, watching a movie, doing a craft, getting on facebook, anything.

you wish you could go into a coma, because both dying and living are both too overwhelming.

...even getting out of bed to go to the toilet is just so much effort that you contemplate staying put and wetting yourself...until you realise that stripping the bed later is way more effort than actually getting up to walk to the bathroom.

...you haven't had a shower or left the house in 6 weeks.

...you can't even cry any more.

...you're not even tired because you've already slept 18 hours, but try to go back to sleep anyway because 6 hour days are still too long.

...you're constantly bored, but can't settle to anything, so you crawl back into bed and try and sleep.

...you don't even have the energy to end it all.

when you're taking those pills everyday religiously and it's not working at all and what you want to do is just flush it down the toilet.

Moving my lips hurts & takes too much effort. Your own children don't bring you joy, just pain. You curse the daylight. Breathing hurts.

You know you're depressed when....you're not hungry and a part of you wonders how long it would take to just starve to death.

When you look at your pill bottles and wonder if you should just take all the pills in the bottle.
When you can't see a future for yourself.

When you've lost all hope that the doctors can do anything to help you off the edge of the cliff and you're only hanging by a thread anyway.
