I've been wondering....and need to discuss with my T at the next session...

How do I cope with things you've done in the past? That is, for me anyway, because of my depression, my emotional instability, I've lashed out at people, I've hurt people....not physically...but emotionally....I've said horrible things to people, I've quit jobs, my life has been a mess for 20 years.

I take ownership of my actions. Not using my illness as an excuse, but looking back at the pain I've inflicted on people's lives, I can't help but feel horrible and guilty and its hard for the vicious cycle of self-loathing and depressing to start again....

Thanks for listening and for your feedback

We have to make amends when we can. If we can't do it in person then used an unsent letter. Once we have done that we have to forgive ourselves because we have done what we can to make things right. We have a history but we are not our history.
