I have been depressed for 2 1/2 years now but wasn't diagnosed until about a year after it seemed to start. I've always thought all my issues started January 2011 because that's when my daughters dad told me he cheated on me and we broke up. I had lost 75 lbs in less than a year at that point. We broke up on January 3. I had mirena placed January 11th. After that I started eating and I felt out of control. I gained back about 40 lbs between then and now. I took out my mirena almost two weeks ago and immediately I feel better. Headaches are gone, I'm not bloated anymore or nauseous. And best of all, so far I have no urges to binge. I made cookies yesterday and ate a bunch but stopped when I was satisfied even though there were still some left. I normally would have eaten them all! I've Also found I'm less hungry and don't think about food constantly!
Just wanted to give a heads up in case someone is having similar issues and has the mirena. I feel so much better without it.
