Are there any guidelines as to what a clinical Psychologist can or can't say to you. Do they just use their own judgement?

They can be held responsible for wrong actions... if you feel their advice has caused you to... lets say, kill someone, or hurt yourself, they can be held responsible... But we have a different judicial system and I don't know the exact guidelines and if there are any... If you feel uncomfortable then let that be your guideline!

if you are here in the USA you can contact your states - State board of certified and licensed clinical social workers. they can send you a copy of the guidelines that therapy professionals in your state must follow. They can also tell you if your therapist has had any complaints resulting in disciplinary action against them and what their qualifications are.
