Hi psychcentral fam. What do yall do to stop depression from recurrenting?
See, i had a bout with depression about two years ago. I came thru in the support of God, family, friends and all of u here. Now, at times, most recently last week, i feel those feelings coming back, depression feelings back. I don't know what to do. Sometimes i feel angry and don't even kno why. Its like I have angry all the time. I become irriated most of time. I force a smile but at times, its hard to even smile. I thought i had this depression thing beat but it has found its way back. What can i do to help myself before i fall back on that road again? Thanx in advance!

Religion, of course. By praying you believe things will get better, right?

Were you under the care of a therapist the first time around? If so, make an appointment to go seem him. If you were on meds, you may need them again.
I do understand your fear of everything falling in on you again. No one wants to be in pain and emotional pain can be as bad if not worse than physical pain.

Remember, you made it through the first time. You are strong, you have experience with that monster from before so you have an idea what to expect and how to deal with it.

I hope you feel better soon.

Hello, ButterfliPrincess11! Stop depression from recurring? That I don't know. What you can do is employ everything that helped you before. Also, try to get a full medical check to ensure your symptoms are not something else masquerading as depression or accompanying it.

Of course! I just decided to give it to Him and things will work out.

I'm not sure you can prevent it...it just happens. But good for you for realizing what's going on before it gets too bad.
