Was this an Internet-only friend? Was she the kind of friend you would have gone to the movies with?

Loneliness and depression are an awful pair.

When you lose someone, the pain is intense. INTENSE. It is hard to fathom just now, but overtime the pain will lessen. Be kind to yourself. Practice self care. Love yourself. Hug yourself. I have lost loved ones. I have done lots of crying. Crying is very healing. Blessings.

Thanks for this!

I'm sorry I used that phrase. A friend is a friend. Even if the communicative fabric of the friendship is electronic, that does not diminish its reality.

Losing any friend is traumatic, all the more so for the lonely.

Sorry to hear that your friend has moved on. Sadly these things do happen, but there is always potential for new friendships to arise.

Though it can be hard to see through the despair... you aren't alone, you can always type here and we will respond!

And I agree with Rohag, there is no diminishment with it being an internet friend... some of the friendships I've gathered over the years have been internet based... sadly that can result in 'disposable' friendships as well, due to the connection not being as current as face to face... so you need to protect yourself for that too. Be good to yourself and build some walls to shield you in cases like this
