Will I notice any difference between taking the two drugs? If so, what?i got switched cause I didn't notice much of a huge impact while on Paxil. I'm worried that Prozoac will not work because if Paxil didn't work I don't see why Prozac will work, especially since their both SSRIs. If they're both SSRIs what will make one work differently than the other?

Well, you'll probably get the brain zaps coming off the Paxil. They're a little jarring, but you'll get used to them.
Also, you may lose some weight. |

Is there a way I can make this Weigt loss into fat loss? What do you mean by brain zaps? I remember there were two times I cut cold turkey from Paxil, and this weird feeling occurred in my brain. It's like my brain would come out of my body then go back in. It was very odd and hard to explain lol

Everyone reacts differently to various ADs. Prozac and Paxil did nothing for me. My doc has found a nice combo that works for me, Wellbutrin + Zoloft. Often it takes trial and error until you find the right combo that works for you. Be sure to give any AD at least 2 weeks before judging results or side effects. Good Luck!

I've been switched to Prozac and have had a noted improvement. I've been on a lot of SSRIs and none did any good until now. So they are different even if they are all SSRIs. I haven't noticed much side effects except some trouble sleeping.

I switched from Prozac, Luvox to Lexapro. I didn't really get brain zaps, but more towards the common side effects. SSRIs didn't work for me. (come to think of it, my current med is not working as well)
Maybe prozac might be it for you? ![]() ![]()

Paxil withdrawl is hell. The SSRIs have subtle differences in structure of the drug molecule. If one does not work another might. Hope that helps.

It's hard to explain the zaps. They're like electrical discharges in your head. You feel a little wonky for a second or two, then everything returns to normal. Mine lasted about two months. As another poster said, you may not get them or have any side effects. Everyone is different. I was just sharing what happened to me. Prozac totally changed my life. It's a great med. |
