Trying to be okay with doing nothing by myself for like the thousandth Friday in a row. Quit alcohol which was my go to when bored like this. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Also, hope people are doing okay.

Sorry man. I know the feeling. I'm married and have a teenage kid, but STILL the weekends can be hell for me. Never know how they're gonna be. I don't drink either (any more). Hang in there. Hope you're doing alright.

My local coffee shop has live music on Friday & Saturdays evenings; so sometimes when I feel lonely I go there to get out of my apartment. Although I'm not 'with' someone specific, it feels good being with others enjoying a performance. I don't feel so alone. Maybe you can see if something you enjoy is going on and attend. Even going out by yourself is better than just staying home. At least it's a change of scenery.

Maybe go outside for a walk? The positive side is you're in California and not here in Ohio freezing w ice all over the ground.

totally get it. sounds very familiar. don't have trouble controlling my alcohol consumption but in college I used to consume bottles of wine to thwart the feeling of loneliness while others my age were out having times of their lives.

now I just sit at home and hope for sleep.

I know, fewer excuses here in California. A went to college in the Midwest and winters were tough on everything, including mood.

Thanks!
