I've been depressed now for two months (minus 3 days) and that's the longest it's ever been. I know that's nothing compared to most of you guys, but before, I was usually cycling pretty quickly between downs and ups. This is really long for me, and I'm not sure what's up. I haven't switched medication. Nothing big has happened in my life. I feel like I should be great, since it's almost winter break, but instead, I'm just down all the time. What is going on?

I think the medications which are meant to stop you from feeling depressed are instead doing the opposite. The pharmaceutical industry making millions with "those addictive pills" by calling them antidepressants eh? You deserve better than that.

I wish I had an answer for you Sam. My depression came on with no triggering event going on 5 months ago now. I'm sorry your down cycle has been as long for you as it's been.
Thanks for this!

Try getting your mind and energies on someone or something other than your depression. Its kind of like a trade. You can do this day by day, or moment by moment.

Hmm that's odd, sometimes the cycles differ, but perhas there's something wrong with your meds, sometimes we hve a tolerance to them and they don't work anymore
Thanks for this!

Do you have final exams coming up? There's a huge source of stress. The holiday season is, too, since people are expected to feel happy then.
Thanks for this!

Sam - Sorry to hear that you are stuck in the world of suck-ville right now. And I do not believe that it is better or worse when you get to *x* number of days. It sucks. Period.

Do you have any friends you can go visit? Can you just go out and have some fun (bars, dancing, party, go to a happy movie)?? Anything?
Thanks for this!
