can you share your experience... or why you didn't choose that option.

Hello & Welcome, Badcloud.

Here's a PsychCentral thread from 2008 discussing ECT experiences.
Edit: Dicejam's ECT experience (***trigger***)

My primary care doctor (internal medicine specialty) is encouraging me to consider ECT; my psychiatrist is hesitant.

I have been recommended for it... but it is "on hold" as my DBT therapist says we are making progress and she wants me to put it off as long as she see progress. My meds-doctor was pushing it and basically said next time I go to the nut house that it should be done.

Personal feelings - I think it is smart people GUESSING that it could help with NO scientific knowledge of how or why it would help.....

I was in the hospital in 2007 for a month and had 10 ECT.

Here is some reading, "Overview of Electroconvulsive Therapy"
An Overview of Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) | Psych Central

For some it is very helpful. I know a couple of people who have maintenance, weekly or monthly ECT, and feel it helps them a lot.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
