Hi,

My name is Phil and this is my first post here. I had an appointment with my Psychiatrist yesterday and it brought up a lot of negative emotions associated with childhood experiences. Today I can't stop crying and feel significantly worse than I did before the appointment. This happens often to me, a few bleak days immediately after seeing a doctor, psychologist or psychiatrist.

I'm wondering if other people have had the same experience, and what they do to cope with it.
Hugs from:

That has happened to me only rarely. In my time here at PsychCentral, however, I have read of those whose experience is at least close to yours.

Have you discussed this very issue with your psychologist or the others?

Sometimes, it takes a little unravelling to heal. I can be a bit sullen for a couple days, after appointments. Depends, for me, as it's not all the time.
