Which one is better to go to for help? What's the difference between the two? I'm a college student, so it would be the university's counseling services and i'm not sure how reliable they are but I know they are licensed psychologists. But I'm not sure if it would be better to go to my family physician for help with my depression.

which ever you have more FAITH in.

I have had doctors who sucked, I have had counselors who didn't earn a dollar in their lifetimes.

you didn't say what your problem is so I would say see a doctor first- better to eliminate an underlying illness or condition that may manifest itself as depression, bi-polar or what have you. I did see a counselor in college and was helped for sure.

Great idea! I also definitely highly suggest a school counselor mainly because they have a lot of resources and help you find someone more specialized if you need it. I go to my current counselor based on a recommendation from my school (of course I did a little research on my own) but they usually know a lot of the community so it's a good resource

Good luck!
