I was asleep last nite when I got bad news, and it sent me to a very bad place. Didn't get back to sleep, and I feel horrible today.
Now, in addition to the original bad news, I also have to deal with a bad night. How do you-all deal with this kind of thing? |

Hello Badmouse, it is a very general question. It was obviously bad enough to keep you awake all night. If you can make amends on the situation, it is something you will have to live with and come to terms with in your own way.

You can't control receiving bad news. It's how you deal with it. DBT is a program specifically designed to teach you these skills. I don't know about CBT.
I have what I affectionately call a "madness box" where I store a bunch of tools to help. There is a stack of reminders of things to think about to put things in perspective. And things that calm me down. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I wish I had a great answer. I don't, but I share your question. I will say that support groups are immensely helpful, at least for me they are.
