Oh yeah. After meeting with my therapist I'm just completely and utterly emotionally drained most of the time. Ready to crawl back into bed and sleep haha. But I believe it really depends on the person. If you have a lot of things in your past it might be best to unravel those knots before moving forward. But also, if you have resolved a lot of it then there really is no real need to go digging up the past--it's not really fun. I try to go treat myself to something nice after therapy since it's best for me to get my mind off it as fast as possible. Then again I have my most intelligent thoughts when I'm talking to people so me thinking about the past by myself has no upside.
I'm 20 too and I hit my worst about a year ago. I find it helpful to be with people but we're different so I really do encourage you to be alone if it calms you.
