Hello everyone I'm here because of an issue with my mother. She seems to feed off negative thoughts. The sun is never bright enough, the glass is never half full. I'm 45 now and never remember a time when she was happy. She lives off pity and misery. Thank god me and my brother are polar opposite of her. Before, I could deal with her with the help of my brother but now he's moved away and she in the later part of her life and I'm spending more and more time with her because of her age. Just here recently I was checking on her and she starts in on the same negative conversation that I've heard my whole life and I just couldn't be nice anyone. I told her that I love her but couldn't talk about the same stuff over and over because she never takes my advice and now that my brother has moved away it's all on me. It's a never ending cycle. It depresses me to be around her. Any help would be great.

Do you think she suffers from depression?
