So I thought I should post an update on my fight with my Depression. Since going to our new psychiatrist, he's doubled my dosage of venlafaxine and put me on the extended release version. This has helped tremendously. Evidently the amount I was taking wasn't therapeutic and wasn't even affecting my norepinephrine levels.
In addition, my wife and I have been working hard on our issues between each other. Our communication has gotten much better and we're beginning to address each other better. Overall, our relationship is doing much better and we're getting along well. My self-esteem is still zero, but at least I don't pay attention to it anymore because of my higher drug dosage. Basically I still hate myself, but I don't care which I think is about the best I can ask for. So overall I'm doing much better, no longer suicidal and working on getting better. Thanks everyone for your support! ![]()

Very happy your med change is helping so much! And the self esteem thing, I'm in the same boat as you: zilch.

Best wishes to you...I'm on venlafaxine XR 150 mg for the past four weeks...others in my life tell me that I'm doing better; I don't feel it yet. I have not been sleeping (maybe the depression, maybe a side-effect)...Glad that it's working for you.
