I had a mh assessment to try and get a pdoc appointment but was told I was too low risk. I want to change meds and my GP wants to change my meds but I need to see a specialist prescriber. My only option is to ask for a 2nd opinion but will my GP think I'm just making a fuss about nothing?

Ask for it...though I know nothing about your healthcare system, I would assume that since you are talking about your health, then be a squeaky wheel.

I understand that being in a national health system is difficult and that everything is micromanaged. It's probably similar to our HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) options, whereby the doctors are given so much money and if they keep control and only do what is absolutely necessary they make more money.
Wondering if you can seek out a second opinion on your own. |
