It's not an urgent issue or anything, but I often want to know the reasons behind my instincts. I am more prone to unfriend someone who I know but gives me a bitter taste in my mouth more so than someone I don't know well. Is it a drive of a deeper resentment, or what? Most importantly, I would follow through with facebook unfriending, but I don't want to affect my karma, and that's the only reason I haven't unfriended a bunch of people yet. It's a selfish reason....but I have had enough bad luck in my life, and I don't want to attract more of it, if karma exists. I think I feel this way when I'm most heartbroken. I just want to isolate myself from negative triggers in any capacity, and take hold of the little power that I actually have in life.

Have you considered deactivating your facebook? Or, you could try using a browser extension like StayFocusd to limit your time spent on it. Or maybe you could just hide the annoying people from your news feed? I deactivated mine a few weeks ago to keep myself from impulsively deleting a ton of people (which I worried I would regret later), and I haven't looked back. I feel so free without it. Facebook did me more harm than good, anyway, since it only contributed to my feelings of loneliness.
Thanks for this!

I unfriend people on facebook all the time. I want to keep my facebook a safe and inviting place. I love hearing about people's lives but if an individual posts nothing but aggressive political, religious etc. then I will get rid of them.

Not sure if this helps.
Thanks for this!

I only have real friends and relatives on FB, not fakes for numbers to "impress".

I have that urge, too. I always feel like unfriending certain people on Facebook, but somehow, I never get to do it. They might think I'm immature or what. I just hide their posts whenever they appear on my newsfeed.
Thanks for this!
