Today I started taking lexapro 10mg for my ppd-post Partum depression(sp) I just had my son 3 weeks ago and I'm hoping the medication won't effect him. But recently everything felt like its crashing down, being on leave and not working or going out and distracting myself with my issues isn't great. And I'm having issues with my boyfriend , everything just not going right and I don't know what to do

Sounds like you're under a lot of pressure, having a child, troubles with your boyfriend, and just not getting the support that you need. I'm not a parent so I can't even imagine what you must be going through but I can certainly relate to feeling bogged down and unsure of what to do about it.

I think you're already taking a healthy step by reaching out to us. There are certainly a lot of great people here who will listen. Welcome to PC by the way.

Are you able to talk to anyone like a close friend or family member about what you're going through?

Every time I talk to someone they hurry up and send me to a doctor to get medicated. I already been down that road and I want to take a different road. My boyfriend thinks talking is a waste of time and my dad will over analyze everything.

Welcome, Macwoods, and congratulations on the birth of your son!

Is this your first experience of depression of any type? Have you expressed to the doctors your concern regarding possible effects of the Lexapro on the baby?
