Does your depression affect your eating? Over the past few days, even though I'm hungry, I just don't eat. I know it's not a good thing. Maybe it's a reaction to the stress I feel in this depressive phase. Anyone else experience just not wanting to eat?

It comes and goes. When I get really depressed often eat too much food. Every once in awhile I will go a whole day not eating until right before bed and then only a bowl of oatmeal or piece of fruit.

When im depressed, I dont feel hungry until about 2am. Depression messes with my slerping too, I sleep all day, stay up from 3pm to 3am. Then sleep until 3pm again.

I used to enjoy not only eating, but cooking as well - now I have little interest in either. |

When I'm depressed, I can't be bothered to eat sometimes (even if I feel hungry), I definitely eat less, and I'm physically incapable of eating until I'm no longer hungry: I get prematurely full. At my lowest point, I don't want to eat and can't eat more than a few mouthfuls. When I was admitted to hospital, I couldn't finish my tray at least the first several days, even if I liked the food.

Sometimes when it gets really bad I don't feel at all like eating and I can skip breakfast and eat only lunch and dinner with no other snacks and not be that hungry. Sometimes food just isn't appealing to me and moving my jaw to chew it seems like a ton of work for some reason. Yes, depression does affect my eating habits.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's a well known symptom. I get so lazy that even when i'm hungry it just seems an effort, and sometimes I get sick at the smell and taste of it.
